Willie Revillame has declared his intention to run for Senate with the goal of helping the underprivileged and underrepresented Filipino population.

TV host Willie Revillame declared that he was prepared to run for Senate in the midterm elections after a prayer gathering opposing Duterte's proposed amendment to the Constitution.

Revillame claims that in 2001, Sen. Bong Go and Duterte asked him to join the senatorial slate of the PDP-Laban, which was the ruling party at the time.

According to Revilla, he declined the offer because of his agreement with GMA7, the TV network where his show "Wowowin" airs.

“I told then president Duterte that I would think about it,” Revillame said.

He claimed that Duterte did not pressure him to enter the Senate.

Revillame declared his intention to run for a Senate seat in 2025 during the prayer rally and leaders' meeting held in Davao City on Sunday.

“Dear president (Duterte), I am praying for this. I am ready to serve the people now, especially those in need,” the TV host said.

Revillame praised Duterte for his encouragement and confidence.
