When Anne Curtis finishes the Tokyo marathon, she becomes emotional and says, "Dedicated to the Filipino youth."

Completing a marathon is truly a hard thing to do but when you finish it, it was the best experience you could ever imagine. After finishing the Tokyo marathon in support of children who have been subjected to abuse, violence, and exploitation, Anne Curtis broke down in tears.

On Sunday, March 5, Curtis posted on her personal Instagram page that "every single kilometer" of the Tokyo marathon was worthwhile because it was completed for a worthwhile cause. The actress serves as a celebrity ambassador for Unicef, a United Nations agency that supports youth development and humanitarian efforts around the world.

“Being a mother, now as well, I couldn’t help but get emotional when I crossed that finish line. It just hit a little differently this time around. Running with a purpose bigger than just receiving a medal kept me fueled,” she said in the caption.

With the assistance of sports scientist Gabb Rosario, the actress also disclosed that she had only trained for about eight weeks. She also expressed her gratitude for the assistance to her loved ones, UNICEF Philippines, and the international children's emergency fund.

Rosario claims that among Curtis' training regimens are work on the energy system, strength and conditioning exercises, cross-training with other sports, and managing a prescribed diet.

“For the whole [two] months there were ZERO Injuries nor pain in every training session. The first 4 weeks consisted of a lot of easy aerobic work with a mix of easy speed play progressing to harder intervals and very specifically planned long runs that includes specific bpm ranges for every kilometer,” he added.
