Mikee Morada Opens Up About Alex Gonzaga's Third Miscarriage

Known for her infectious laughter and bubbly personality, Alex Gonzaga has always brought joy to her fans. However, behind the scenes, the beloved actress and vlogger has been quietly enduring a heartbreaking journey. In a recent interview with her sister-in-law, Toni Gonzaga, Councilor Mikee Morada, Alex's husband, revealed that she suffered a third miscarriage last December.

Morada shared that the couple's hopes were dashed when doctors discovered that Alex had experienced a blighted ovum, a condition where a fertilized egg implants in the uterus but fails to develop into an embryo. Despite the devastating news, Morada expressed unwavering hope and optimism, emphasizing their faith that they will be blessed with a child someday.
“Noong una nalaman namin ni Catherine na pregnant siya [for the third time], nabuo ‘to noong birthday ni Mommy Pinty [Gonzaga] sa Singapore or after that. Nagulat kami kasi wala kaming plano,” he began, referring to Alex using her real name.
According to Morada, their initial appointments with the obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN) went "okay," which made Alex more cautious. Nevertheless, they were made aware of the latter's condition during their third-week visit.
“Nagpa-check up kami kaagad sa OB and okay naman. Tapos nag-decide kami na mag-iingat na talaga siya and the second week, okay pa ‘yung ultrasound. Hanggang dun sa pangatlong linggo, sabi sa amin nung doctor, ‘Naku, wala na namang laman. Blighted ovum ulit’,” he said.
Following their first unsuccessful pregnancy, a couple made the decision to see another OB-GYN for a second opinion. Their child's heartbeat, which they hoped to hear, was just 65. They hurried to the hospital that same day and did everything they could to rescue the baby, but he was gone. She broke down at night despite her strength, and the doctor advised her to take medication to cause bleeding. Despite their third unsuccessful pregnancy attempt, the couple is optimistic, seeing it as a part of "God's plan" and hoping for a third chance at conception.
Two months after stating at an event in October 2024 that her body was in a “better condition” to conceive, Gonzaga experienced her third miscarriage.
After marrying Morada in November 2020, the actress-vlogger experienced miscarriages in 2023 and a year later. Despite this, she often stated that she will have her first kid when the time was right.
