Vic Sotto claims there is no rivalry between him and the cast of "It's Showtime," saying, "Iba ang kaaway namin."

Showtime takes center stage at noontime on GMA, and despite any speculation, Vic Sotto isn't fazed.

Although he pointed out that the comedic trio consisting of himself, Tito Sotto, and Joey de Leon (or TVJ) had a "different enemy," Vic Sotto stated that there is no animosity between the hosts of "Eat Bulaga" and "It's Showtime."

Speaking on the sidelines of the TV5 noontime show's April 20 episode, Sotto stated that their group never saw the cast of the noontime show produced by ABS-CBN as their "enemies," but rather as their peers.

“Never naming sasabihing kaaway [ang ‘It’s Showtime.’] Katapat, kalaban, pero iba ang kaaway namin (We never considered “It’s Showtime” as our enemy. Counterpart, opposite, but we have a different enemy),” he said, without disclosing anyone’s name in particular.

The comedic trio hasn't publicly reconciled since TVJ left TAPE Inc.; earlier this month, a labor case against the production firm was dropped. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, a legal counsel, thinks that this is only a "prelude" to the truth.

“Iba ang magkaaway sa kalaban. It could be a friendly competition. It has always been the case with ‘Eat Bulaga’ and ‘It’s Showtime,’ ‘yun ang nagpapasaya sa tanghalian ng mga Pilipino,” said Sotto.

It's all part of the game, but the midday feud between show fans shouldn't last too long. According to Sotto, some followers should be delighted because social media is a part of life and happiness. He also stood up for those who propagated untrue rumors that the noontime show was closing because of poor revenue. In a recent episode, Sotto's brother, former senator Tito, and de Leon voiced their dismay at the reports, which ultimately led to them flatly refuting them.
