Carlos Yulo, a Filipino gymnast, has declared that he will compete in the final round of the 2024 Paris Games' vault, floor exercise, and all-around competitions.
As of this writing, Yulo's all-around score of 83.631 placed her ninth, which is more than enough to secure a spot in the medal round, where 24 competitors have qualified.
On July 31, the all-around competition finals will take place.
After finishing second in floor exercise with a score of 14.766, Yulo, a former world champion in the sport, secured a spot in the finals, trailing only Jake Jarman of Great Britain with 14.966.
August 3rd is the day for the floor workout medal round.
Yulo is aiming to surpass his performance from the Tokyo Games in the vault, when he finished fourth three years prior.
Following a sixth-place showing of 14.683 in the qualification round, he advanced to the vault finals in France once more.
Notably, at the 2021 World Championships, Yulo won a gold medal in the aforementioned apparatus.
With an event scheduled for August 4, this will be the last time the native of Manila is in Paris.
Yulo received a score of 14.533 in the pommel horse, rings, and horizontal bar but missed the parallel bars, where he took home the silver and gold medals in 2021 and 2022.
