The singer-actress, who is 21 years old, talked about performing "Lupang Hinirang" at a Dodgers game and acknowledged that she was initially uneasy. She did, however, perform on the technical front and deliver the anthem's message. She sought to inspire her fellow citizens as she proudly represented her nation. Garcia's Instagram post mixed feelings of joy and relief.

People in the audience that day, including Filipinos, praised her, and local celebrities like Vina Morales, Vicki Belo, and Arci Muoz also showed their support. Her performance was shared on the Filipino Heritage Night Instagram page in a longer version than what she uploaded on her page. Ez Mil, a Filipino-American rapper, served as the first pitch thrower that same night before the Dodgers defeated the Oakland Athletics.
