TJ Monterde Rides Concert High to Top of Spotify Charts

TJ Monterde's heart is full. Coming down from the exhilarating high of his three-night "Sariling Nating Mundo" concert series at the Araneta Coliseum, he's been met with another wave of joy: he's the most streamed OPM artist on Spotify.

This outpouring of love and support from his fans has left Monterde deeply grateful.  "Grabe kayo, mga bituin!" he exclaimed on Instagram, thanking his "stars" for their unwavering support.  The Araneta Coliseum shows were a special experience, showcasing his talent and featuring performances by his wife KZ Tandingan, BINI Colet, South Korean artist 10CM, Martin Nievera, and Arthur Nery.

The celebrations continued online, with Monterde sharing a series of art cards highlighting his Spotify success, culminating in a sweet and heartfelt "#1 sa puso ni KZ" message.

"Sobra sobrang blessings," he wrote, expressing his gratitude for all the good fortune, "pero sa last slide pa rin ako," emphasizing the importance of his personal life and relationships.

From his beginnings in Cagayan de Oro, Monterde has risen to become a prominent figure in OPM, touching the hearts of listeners with his relatable songs like "Dating Tayo," "Ikaw At Ako," and "Mahika."  His recent hit "Palagi," from the 2023 album "Sariling Mundo," has become a massive hit, its melodies echoing across various platforms.  The duet version with KZ Tandingan, released a year later, reached an even wider audience when it was selected as the theme song for the 2024 film "Hello, Love, Again," solidifying its place as a modern OPM classic.
