This Valentine's Day, Philippine Postal Corp. has revived its "Singing Kartero" service.

Let us all go back to when Harana is one of the things women get kilig. Not all of us witnessed it, most of us saw it online or on television. Good thing because the Philippine Postal Corporation has brought back its "Singing Kartero" service this year, in which messengers personally serenade mail recipients with a song or two for a small fee.

According to Jeff Catayong, acting marketing head of PhilPost Mega Manila Area, it's the ideal Valentine's Day present for Filipino couples who are "more emotional [and] loving."

According to Lavier Briones, a singing kartero (postman or messenger), a serenade often has a greater emotional impact on the receiver due to the element of surprise.

Customers can get the PhilPost service for P2,500, which includes two songs from a kartero as part of the state-run company's "Express Pada-LOVE project."

Each messenger has a set of songs from which clients can choose, but they may request special arrangements if it is possible.

The Singing Kartero service is available until Wednesday

Catayong, on the other hand, stated that PhilPost was looking into the possibility of offering the service all year.

"We previously opened [the service] on various occasions, such as Mother's Day, birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings," he explained.

For the time being, the service is only available in Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, and select areas of Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Tuguegarao, Cebu, and Davao.
