Taylor Swift smashes the record for the most albums charting on the Billboard 200 at the same time.
Taylor Swift makes an enormous mark on the Billboard 200 albums chart , with ten albums on the list at the same time. And they're all in the top 100 of a 200-position total of the week's most popular albums in the United States. Nine of those ten albums are in the top 50, eight are in the top 40, and three are in the top 10.
Since the Billboard 200 was consolidated from its formerly separate mono and stereo LP charts into one all-encompassing list in August 1963, Swift has been:
- the first living female artist with at least three albums in the top ten at the same time
- the only performer with at least eight albums in the top 40 at the same time
- the only act to have at least nine albums in the top 50 at the same time
- the only living artist with at least 10 albums in the top 100 at the same time
According to Guinness World Records (GWR), the "Anti-Hero" vocalist is the first live artist to have 10 albums ranking simultaneously on the US Billboard 200, referencing the chart for May 6, 2023. These are the albums:
No. 3 – Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions
No. 4 – Midnights
No. 10 – Lover
No. 12 – Folklore
No. 21 – 1989
No. 22 – reputation
No. 27 – Red (Taylor’s Version)
No. 29 – Evermore
No. 41 – Fearless (Taylor’s Version)
No. 66 – Speak Now
Swift also smashed the record after the same albums debuted on the US Billboard 200 on March 4, 2023, except folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. Instead, Lover: Live from Paris finished in 58th place.
According to GWR, the only other musicians to have had ten albums in the US Billboard 200 at the same time were Whitney Houston in 2012 and Prince and David Bowie in 2016, although all of them occurred after their deaths.
Swift's Midnights is the most played album on Amazon Music for the next 24 hours, having been streamed 7.97 million times in October 2022. She is also the female musician with the most Top 10 hits on the US Hot 100.
