"Shame on you!" yells Janno Gibbs at vloggers who associate him with his father's passing.'
The Philippine National Police was accused by actor Janno Gibbs of improperly managing the inquiry into the death of his father Ronaldo Valdez, which resulted in the disclosure of personal information and video recordings. According to Gibbs, his family was emotionally distressed by the media attacks.
“We strongly denounce, in the strongest terms possible, the evident mismanagement of the investigation and mishandling of sensitive data showing apparent lapses and breaches of confidentiality on the part of the investigation team. Such reckless actions of certain individuals in leaking sensitive information are deeply alarming— not just for my family, but for society as a whole,” Gibbs said.
The family of Valdez, who was discovered dead in Quezon City, has demanded a public apology from the PNP and the officials in charge of the flawed investigation for the anguish and betrayal of confidence. They hope that the PNP and other government agencies would take the appropriate steps, but they will not initiate legal action.
Actor Gibbs disclosed that he was informed that his father's complete message had already been disseminated after his death was made public online. He questioned the police's approach, saying that it was best to prevent leaks while conducting investigations. During a paraffin test, Gibbs also reported seeing a camera crew filming the occurrence. Concerning the delay in getting the gunshot residue out of their house, he also voiced his concerns. In addition, Gibbs acknowledged his affiliation with vloggers who expressed similar feelings about the passing of his father.
“Ganito na ba kababa, ka desperado ang mga vloggers for likes and views at the expense of our lives, my father’s reputation, my family?” he said.
“Sa kanilang lahat, yung mga binaggit ko, pati sa lahat ng netizens na nag share, nagpasa ng video, I want to say shame on you. Or better yet, fuck you. I think that’s the better statement,” he added.
He continued, his voice breaking, saying he is doing this because he does not want anyone else to go through what they experienced.
