"Isteri Halal," the Malaysian adaption of the blockbuster ABS-CBN series "The Legal Wife," has been making headlines and topping the TV ratings list since its launch last February on Malaysian TV station Astro Ria.

The adaption "Isteri Halal," which presently airs weeknights, has been enjoying strong TV viewership, leading the TV ratings battle in the 6 p.m. hour. according to DTAM's report dated April 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, Malaysians have been chatting about "Isteri Halal" on social media, with millions of views across Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.

Radius One produced the program, which keeps loyal to the original series while emphasizing Malaysian culture that appeals to its local audience. It stars award-winning Malaysian actresses Isyariana Che Azmi, Aidit Noh, and Uqasha Senrose.

"The Legal Wife" was a 2014 Filipino film starring Angel Locsin, Maja Salvador, and Jericho Rosales. It centres around two childhood friends who both hunger for their father's love and, eventually, the same man, entwining them in a lustful, deceitful, and betrayal-filled affair.

Astro Ria's head, Norzeha Mohd Salleh, expressed happiness with the show's overall quality and reaction from local audiences in a statement.

'Isteri Halal,' a must-see program with a fantastic cast and director, has gained massive audience since its debut. Other ABS-CBN series have been adapted for overseas audiences, most notably in Turkey.
