I know most of us are so into the series of Dirty Linen and Doña Cielo is a most hated character and bows down one of the great actresses in this series. To make her acting touch our hearts she had to lean on her past heartache.

When requested by the director of "Dirty Linen," Onat Diaz, to prepare for a scene in which her character, Doña Cielo, meets actor Soliman Cruz, who turned out to be her rapist when she was younger and about to get married, Tomas admitted that she felt uneasy. This was revealed at the finale mediacom for "Dirty Linen."

The seasoned performer claimed that the director instructed her to portray a range of feelings in that sequence, including her anguish and sadness at the person whose deception had finally come to light after so many years.

Tomas was contemplating how to act out a rape scenario as she was being informed that, a thought that had never occurred to her in all her years of performing in front of the camera.

Tomas started to remember the hurt she experienced after breaking up with a long-ago boyfriend as if on cue.

“Ang in-imagine ko na lang — puwede ko namang sabihin ‘to kahit buhay pa siya, iba ‘yung hugot ko doon sa ex ko — Pinipigil ko ang luha ko ngayon, pero iyon ang isa sa pinakamasakit. Naramdaman ko, ginamit ko siya. Buti naman napakinabangan ko siya. Kesa naman inutil na siya. Na inutil na rin kasi nga na-stroke ‘yun, eh, pero buhay pa,” she said.

Tomas claimed that she was sharing her method in the hopes that other performers could benefit from it.

Tomas tells the pain she had when her ex-boyfriend broke his promise to come back to her shortly. He avoided her pushes as she attempted to remove him from the stairs. Tomas considers how painful the event was for her and compares it to being raped in order to convey it. Stars in the film "Dirty Linen" include Janine Gutierrez, Zanjoe Marudo, Dolly de Leon, John Arcilla, Epy Quizon, Angel Aquino, Francine Diaz, and Seth Fedelin.
