CNN host don lemon claims he was dismissed by the network

One of the hurtful things that will happen to someone is getting fired without you knowing it. You treat them as a family and the next day you wake up and your fired same goes with Don Lemon

Don Lemon, a longtime host on CNN, has been fired by the cable network, the news anchor said in a post on Twitter on Monday. He added that he was "stunned" by the move and that he had not been informed in person of the termination by the network.

“After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network,” he added.

Lemon was terminated by CNN after 17 years, and was offered a chance to meet with management, but instead released a statement on his personal Twitter account, which the network described as "inaccurate".

Lemon's departure was not explained in either statement.

Lemon began working for CNN in 2006 and rose to fame during the administration of Donald Trump. His on-air remarks regarding Nikki Haley's suggestion that people over 75 show mental competence drew criticism. For the sexist remarks, he later expressed regret. On Monday morning, Lemon appeared on the "CNN This Morning" program.
