After defeating Dyip, Gin Kings celebrate Tenorio's return.
Barangay Ginebra stunned LA Tenorio, defeating Terrafirma 110-99 in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Sunday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Tenorio, who has been out with colon cancer for a while, played 26 minutes on Sunday and finished with six points, three assists, and a rebound.
He provided the Gin Kings a much-needed lift, allowing them to draw away from the Dyip with a dramatic second-round rally.
Ginebra trailed Terrafirma by four points, 29-25, before outscoring them 28-13 to win the game, 53-42.
Since then, the Gin Kings have never looked back, building a lead of up to 16 points, 92-108, with 2:31 remaining on a layup by Mav Ahanmisi.
Terrafirma got as close as 11 points at the end, thanks to a and-one play by Thomas De Thaey with approximately a minute remaining.
Tony Bishop led Ginebra to victory yet again, finishing with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.
Christian Standhardinger contributed 24 points and 10 rebounds.
