Actress Barbie Hsu Dies of Pneumonia Following Flu Complications

Barbie Hsu, our beloved Shan Cai from Meteor Garden?!  💔  News just broke out of Taipei that the iconic Taiwanese actress has tragically passed away at the age of 48 due to pneumonia after contracting influenza during the Lunar New Year holiday.

This devastating news, confirmed by her sister through her agent, has sent ripples of grief across the globe. For many of us, Barbie Hsu was Shan Cai, the unforgettable lead in the drama that defined a generation. This loss is truly heartbreaking.

"Our whole family came to Japan for a trip, and my dearest and most kindhearted sister Barbie Hsu died of influenza-induced pneumonia and unfortunately left us," Hsu's sister and talk show hostess Dee Hsu (徐熙娣) said through her agent.

"I was grateful to be her sister in this life and that we got to care for and spend time with each other. I will always be grateful to her and miss her!"
