Wantusawa in Poblacion is given the go-ahead to close following the food poisoning incident

Due to diner complaints of food poisoning, the oyster bar Wantusawa in Poblacion, Makati, has temporarily closed.

They informed Rappler via Facebook message that they must wait for the results of water and oyster testing before they can resume operations.

They are performing maintenance and repairs in the interim "to help improve the quality of service we provide."

In January, diners who claimed to have experienced food poisoning after eating at the restaurant flooded Wantusawa's Facebook page with complaints.

In response to the complaints, Wantusawa issued a statement claiming that bacteria tests on their oysters came back negative, "thereby ruling out any possibility of food poisoning."

Additionally, they asserted that they were the targets of "social media bullying," and they made legal action against those they claimed were bullying them.
