Highlighting Mindanao Flavors with Their New Gelatos from Palm Grill and Karabella Dairy

Who doesn’t want a gelato in a hot summer? I know you do, so if you’re up to trying new flavors, Mindanao’s gelato will make you fall in love not just with their places but also their food.

Serving up delights from Mindanao cuisine, Palm Grill in Manila is a well-liked establishment that highlights the history and culture of the area. In collaboration with Karabella Dairy, they also provide a delicious treat featuring regional gelato flavors that highlight the distinctive tastes of the area.

With the goal of preserving Southern Mindanaoan cuisine and culture, Palm Grill's collaborated with Karabella Dairy to create a limited-edition gelato line including flavors that are representative of the region. Made from Kahawa Sug (coffee of Sulu), a single-origin coffee varietal that is typically consumed with Tausug pastries or dishes, Sulu Coffee (P490) is a robust and deep scoop that pays homage to Tausug coffee tradition.

Burnt Coconut (P490) is a nutty scoop that tastes like a less-sweet latik. It is modeled from syunug lahing, which is basically burnt coconut meat and is generally used to produce tiyula itum and pamapa. Not to be overlooked is Knicker (P500), a fruit-filled ice dessert modeled after knickerbocker, a Zamboangueño ice treat.

If you love it so much you can buy a pint and take it home to share with your family. You can get it at Palm Grill locations in Tomas Morato and Gateway 2, you can purchase pints or order them by the scoop (P190). This is just for a limited time offer only so what are you waiting for to get yourself a scoop!
