Din Tai Fung Returns with its 9th Xiaolongbao Day, Featuring Two New Flavors for 2024
Din Tai Fung is marking its ninth annual Xiaolongbao Day with a flavorful twist, introducing two exciting new varieties of its famous dumplings. Inspired by the rich culinary traditions of China and Singapore, these new flavors add a fresh dimension to the beloved dish. For one week only, fans of the iconic plump dim sum can enjoy this special celebration of bold, international tastes, making this year’s event a must-try for food lovers everywhere.
In honor of Xialongbao Day 2024, Din Tai Fung is launching two new XLB flavors that delve into the fascinating tastes of Asia. The first is Scallop and Prawn Laksa, a noodle soup that is modeled after Singapore's well-known dish. A spicy and sour broth, sweet coconut, and spicy sambal sauce, together with fresh scallops and prawns for meaty bits, fill this soup dumpling.
The second new challenger is Wagyu Mala, which is entirely Chinese in origin (the word "mala" obviously relates to the Sichuan province's distinctively fiery and numbing seasoning). The Japanese wagyu stuffing in this new dim sum dish is complemented by a tongue-tingling soup made with Sichuan peppercorn, cinnamon, and star anise for spicy, comforting slurps.
