The Capitol Bakery, situated in Kapitolyo, Pasig City, offers freshly baked Garlic Herb Rolls as their newest offering.

The owner of The Capitol Baker, Chef Bekah, was formerly in charge of Bobba Donuts MNL, an Instagram bakery that went viral and was born out of a pandemic. Bobba Donuts MNL sold milk tea donuts with tapioca pearls and a variety of fruits and sweet fillings.

Though Chef Bekah's idea to start over came from seeing how most of the food businesses that started in that neighborhood were able to grow and expand in and outside of Metro Manila, Bobba Donuts is no longer in operation; the business was sold, and her family moved from Taguig City to the bustling food haven Kapitolyo.

She loved all the ingredients in the delectable treat—butter, garlic, fresh herbs, cheese, and bread, of course—so much that she decided to start selling Garlic Herb Rolls.

“I wanted to recreate the simple dinner roll and innovate it into something unique that everybody will love. So I thought of putting a dip in the middle,” she said.

To make dinner rolls more genuine and cozy, Chef Bekah develops a recipe for soft, fluffy rolls devoid of softeners or additives. The roll is slightly sweet and flavorful, while chewy at the same time. It can be had for breakfast, as a side dish, or as a hearty merienda. The Capitol Baker intends to create a commercial pastry store where customers may dine in and drink coffee in addition to offering more goods.
