The Greenhills location of Mister Donut is closing.
You could argue that the wildly popular Mister Donut location in Greenhills is roughly the same age as the legendary youth film Bagets 2, which turns 40 this year. As a matter of fact, the latter served as one of the numerous shooting locations for the 1984 motion picture that made Francis Magalona and Ramon Christopher famous.
But Mister Donut, the cherished corner coffee and doughnut business in the Greenhills Shopping Center, is closing on January 31st. Meanwhile, Viva Films may be hosting a party for Bagets 2 later in the year.
People who have at some point over the past 40 years used Mister Donut Philippines as a meeting spot, hangout, or part of their morning routine expressed their sadness on social media as the company confirmed the news of its closure on Tuesday, saying it will be saying goodbye "along with other tenants in the area to give way to the redevelopment of Greenhills Shopping Center."
Mister Donut's Greenhills coffee shop opened in 1982 in the Philippines, becoming a hub for teenage activities and kid-friendly movies like The Punks and Hotshots, franchising to Filipino business owners in 1983.
