The Love Offspring of Puto Bumbong and Tikoy Is This New Christmas Delight

You know christmas is around the corner if you smell Puto Bumbong and to make it extra special they make a twist that will make you Christmas better.

Eng Bee Tin's Tikoy Bumbong is an ooey-gooey take on the Christmas dish that replaces rice cake with tikoy.

Eng Bee Tin's holiday treat has been available for several years, but there are some new twists this year to make your Christmas better than before. The Tikoy Bumbong was formerly released in Ube taste, therefore the conventional violet color, but it is now also available in green. No, it's not tikoy flavored with green apple, grape, or melon. The Chinese deli's new Tikoy Bumbong flavor is the aromatic, grassy, coconutty Pandan.

The color of the Tikoy Bumbong is inspired by the Christmas treat, but it is elevated to food-porn status by including a creamy custard filling in the center so the taste is unforgettable.  This is why, if you're going to store it in the fridge, microwave it for 20 seconds or steam it for 3-5 minutes to obtain the money shot—the money shot being the custard filling softening and oozing out of the tikoy.

Tikoy Bumbong is best served with margarine, sugar, and desiccated coconut to make it more bumbong. It's best enjoyed alone with family and friends, and is only available at certain Eng Bee Tin stores for a limited time.
