Anyone can now become a Starbucks Rewards member for free.

Whether you're already a Starbucks Rewards member or considering joining the coffee community, it's important to be aware of the significant updates Starbucks is making to its Rewards program, which are being introduced starting today.

Becoming a Starbucks Rewards member is now accessible to everyone at no cost, in contrast to the previous requirement of purchasing a physical Starbucks Rewards card and registering it online. This time, the process is simplified – you only need to download the Starbucks PH mobile app, which is available on Google Play for Android users and the App Store for iOS users, or visit the Starbucks website and complete the registration using your email address.

For those who still appreciate having a physical Starbucks Rewards card, don't worry – these adorable cards will still be available, and your collection can continue to grow with the release of new Starbucks Rewards card designs.

A Fresh Way to Accumulate Stars: Purchasing Starbucks Merchandise

Starbucks enthusiasts who love collecting merchandise, your dreams have come true! As part of the significant changes in Starbucks' rewards program, you can now earn Stars when you buy any of the charming Starbucks merchandise showcased in the coffee shop or via Starbucks' flagship store on Lazada, as long as your Starbucks account is linked to your Lazada account.

Earning Stars Through Cards and E-Wallets

A new method for earning Stars involves using your credit cards and debit cards issued in the Philippines, or popular e-wallets like Maya, QRPH, GCash, Shopee Pay, and WeChat Pay to make purchases of your favorite Starbucks drinks and food items. This option is especially convenient if you're in a hurry and haven't registered your Starbucks Rewards card or simply prefer to avoid topping up your digital or physical Starbucks Rewards card. To use this method, access the Starbucks PH mobile app, select the "Pay" button, and then click on the "Other payments" tab. This will display a unique barcode that the barista can scan while taking your order, ensuring that the Stars are credited to your account upon successful payment.

Point System for Card and E-Wallet Transactions

It's important to note that the point system for transactions using credit cards, debit cards, and e-wallets differs from using a registered Starbucks Rewards card to pay for your order. When using this new payment method, you'll earn one Star for every P50 spent. This represents a significant change from the previous system where using a registered Starbucks Rewards card, whether digital or physical, allowed you to earn one Star for every P25 spent. Additionally, for GrabFood and Lazada transactions linked to an existing registered Starbucks Rewards account, you can earn one Star for every P40 spent.
