This one-night-only event offers a chance to sample and learn about Filipino chocolate.
If you love chocolates, this is the event you don’t want to miss out on. Cacao is grown in many regions of the Philippines, where its terroir influences the final product's flavor. Here's one way to delve into this enormous (and somewhat frightening) world: mark this coming Thursday, July 27, for All About Cacao + Chocolate, a one-night-only chocolate tasting event.
At Hatch and Hoolman in Taguig, a unique tasting meal and chocolate tasting session called "All About Cacao + Chocolate" will begin at six o'clock. 27th of July. It will be led by certified chocolate taster Treena Tecson of hometown brand True Chocolate and renowned pastry chef Ely Salar of neighborhood dessert boutique Patisserie Le Choux-Colat, so you can learn about (and taste!) your way through the ways of Filipino cacao and chocolate.
Filipino bean-to-bar chocolates made with cacao beans from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be tasted by participants under the guidance of Tecson, a qualified chocolate maker and Cacao Evaluator. In his Patisserie Le Choux-Colat, famous pastry chef Salar will demonstrate his mastery of French pastry techniques and use cocoa from the Philippines. Two savory dishes with cacao infusion will also be served at the event.
There are just 20 seats available, and tickets are P3,500 each. Call right once to reserve your place! Through their online reservation form, you can make a reservation and pay using GCash or a bank transfer.
Hatch & Hoolman is at S.Ola corner Villamor Street, Phase 4 APOVAI, Taguig. For reservations, fill out the All About Cacao + Chocolate reservation form. For more information, check out the Instagram pages of True Chocolate and Patisserie Le Choux-Colat.
