To Support Our Farmers, Order This Veggie-Packed Bibimbap.
A great way to help our farmers is by buying this bibimbap. Bibimbap—the all-in-one dish of rice, vegetables, meat or other proteins (and oftentimes, an egg) delivered in a bowl, to be mixed together with a hot dollop of gochujang—is also fantastic in its own right.
If the craving strikes, we suggest sate it while helping farmers in need—for example, Sama-Samang Artista para sa Kilusang Agraryo's Bibimbap, which is available for ordering until May 28 for delivery on May 30 and 31.
The Bibimbap is the latest edition to Sama-Samang Artista para sa Kilusang Agraryo (SAKA)'s Kitchen Kalasag series—seasonally accessible foods cooked up by SAKA team members to help support the organization's efforts that aim to draw notice to agrarian reform and other relevant concerns today.
Choose from the vegan-friendly Bibimbap Regular (P180) and the egg-topped Bibimbap With Egg (P200), both of which are high in plant protein. SAKA's bibimbap is fiery (and nutritious!) combination of kangkong kimchi (made from water spinach planted in farmlands acquired through collective action of farmers in UP Diliman's Area 17, which is under threat of demolition), seasoned spinach, and fermented red onions (made from rescued onions from Mindoro, planted by farmers who are also under threat of losing access to their land).
Pre Orders may be submitted using SAKA's online purchase form till tomorrow, May 28; the organization accepts payments by BPI, GCash, and Paymaya. Choose between May 30 and 31 pickups (both at midday); then, arrange a courier to pick them up and bring them to your house.
For orders, fill out SAKA's order form. You can also check out their Facebook page.
