The viral Tornado Omelette gives Yabu's newest dish a twist upgrade.
Tornado omelets became a popular #foodporn trend throughout the pandemic. To imitate this Korean-inspired cuisine, Yabu has created a Tornado Omelet Curry, which consists of a rice mountain topped with a swirling inverted omelet like a tornado.
If you've ever ventured beyond Yabu's crowd-favorite katsudon, you're already aware of their Japanese curries—that is, dishes with your choice of meat, rice, a pool of sweet-peppery Japanese curry sauce, and refillable sides. For their newest curry dish, the rice is topped with a tornado-style omelet that is swirled on the pan as it cooks, adding to the egg's topsy-turvy twister appearance.
Yabu's new Tornado Omelet Curry costs P490 and comes with a choice of Rosu (tenderloin) or Chicken Katsu as the main protein. This already comes with refillable sides of shredded cabbage (add the sesame salad dressing), miso soup, and sliced tropical fruits.

The Tornado Omelet Curry is now available at all Yabu locations, and it coincided with the opening of the 18th and 19th Yabu locations, respectively, at SM Grand Central in Caloocan and SM Fairview in Quezon City. These new locations also serve Yabu's sibling brand Kiwami's Hokkaido Soft Cream.
