1 Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe container.
2 Heat the chocolate for 30 seconds on High or Medium-High.
3 Scrape down the sides and stir in the chocolate.
4 Repeat steps 2-3 until the chocolate is almost completely melted.
5 When there are only small lumps left, remove the container and continue stirring the chocolate to allow the residual heat to melt the last lumps.
If you don't have a microwave you can do this alternative by using double-boiler with these simple steps:
1 You'll need a sauce pot and a heatproof glass bowl or stainless steel bowl. Check that the bowl fits over the pot and does not sink into it.
2 Fill the pot about 1/4 full, making sure the water does not touch the bottom of the bowl when it is placed on the pot.
3 Bring the water in the pot to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to Medium.
4 Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water and add the chocolate.
5 Scrape the bottom and sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed. This evenly distributes the heat throughout the chocolate and keeps the bottom and sides from burning. This evenly distributes the heat throughout the chocolate and keeps the bottom and sides from burning. Hold the bowl with a kitchen mitt to keep it from sliding off the pot. It also protects your fingers/hands while holding the bowl steady.
6 Remove the chocolate from the heat when it is almost completely melted. Stir and scrape until the chocolate is completely melted.
Once you melted your chocolates dip your desire fruits, cookies, donuts and more and put in a box with a letter for more personal touch.
