Battles with June Mar Fajardo bring out Kelly Williams' best qualities.

The fact that San Miguel is the opponent of Kelly Williams' best offensive games in the PBA is probably no coincidence.

When facing June Mar Fajardo, the TNT veteran said he always tries to play his best. On Sunday, February 19, the Tropang Giga edged the Beermen for the Governors' Cup solo No. 1 by scoring a conference-high 16 points.

In the thrilling 105-103 victory that improved their record to 8-1, Williams scored 11 points in the second half while outscoring the six-time MVP, who finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

When facing Fajardo, Williams has developed the habit of giving it his all.

In Game 5 of the Philippine Cup finals, against Fajardo and San Miguel, he not only scored a season-high 21 points but also had 9 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 assists to help TNT take a 3-2 series lead.

The best-of-seven match, however, ended with a 4-3 loss for the Tropang Giga.

“I make sure I get extra rest and I get a good meal, calm my mind, and get ready for war. I think that is any player, any player who knows,” said Williams.
