Acclaimed Restaurant Metronome Closes Permanently Following Chef’s Departure

Metronome, a contemporary French eatery located in Legazpi Village, Makati, has declared its permanent closure via social media.  Following chef Miko Calo's exit in April and the restaurant's "indefinite" closing declaration in May, Metronome, a well-known eatery praised for its innovative French cuisine, has announced its permanent closure.

"It is with deep regret that we announce the permanent closure of Metronome as a business," Metronome's statement read. "It was a fun five years, and we thank everyone for being a part of that."

“We set out to create one of the greatest restaurants this country had ever seen,” says Metronome's president and CEO, Elbert Cuenca, in an exchange with SPOT.ph. “Looking back, I truly believe that with my partners Chef Miko [Calo] and [veteran manager] Alain [Borgers], that is exactly what we achieved. I am thankful to my partners for what we had. Sadly though, as with any business venture, things don’t always work out. I wish Chef Miko the best.”

Due to the resignation of Executive Chef Miko Calo, Metronome, a well-known restaurant in the Philippines, has announced its permanent closure. The eatery debuted in 2019 and has since received praise both domestically and abroad. In November 2022, it was included in the list of the 50 best discoveries.
