PNP Confirms No Special Treatment for Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo Following Arrest and Transfer to Camp Crame

Senators were incensed by images of former Bamban mayor Alice Guo posing "happy" in pictures with members of the Philippine government in Jakarta, Indonesia, and signing a peace sign with DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos and PNP chief Rommel Marbil.

Hontiveros, who reminded government authorities of Guo's alleged crimes in the Philippines, was offended by the photos.

Guo was also chastised by Hontiveros for viewing her arrest as a "fan meet."

Unli-pictures sya doon," the senator remarked.

Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian said that their agency should not allow this to happen, casting doubt on the professionalism of the law enforcement officials who snapped photographs with Guo.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has refused Alice Guo special treatment because of an arrest order issued by a Tarlac court. Guo fled the Philippines as a result of graft and corruption proceedings. Guo has acknowledged her contentment with the protection she feels in the presence of the authorities and her delight in the company of Philippine government officials, despite her attempts to secure her release.
