Executive pay at PhilHealth nearly tripled in 2022

The overall salary of top executives of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation nearly quadrupled from P26.202 million in 2021 to P72.244 million the following year, according to PhilHealth's financial disclosures for 2022.

The financial results for the public health insurance company were included in the Commission on Audit's annual report, which was released in early August.

PhilHealth's president, chief executive officer, and senior vice presidents were among the "key management personnel" who received raises.

Their total compensation, allowances, bonuses, and benefits increased by 172.7% year on year.

Personnel services expenses at PhilHealth climbed marginally to P4.973 billion in 2022, up from P4.277 billion in 2021. Dante Gierran's base pay would rise to P588,000 in 2022, reaching P4.45 million. Senior vice presidents' salaries would also rise from P140,000 to P380,000 in 2022.
