PH is experiencing the worst sleep crisis according to a research

Filipinos get the least amount of sleep in Southeast Asia, according to a survey by the consumer research and data analytics firm Milieu Insight.

Three thousand participants in the study were selected from Southeast Asian nations like Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines.
According to reports, 56% of Filipinos have trouble falling or staying asleep on a daily or weekly basis. With 49%, Thailand is in second position, followed by 44% for Indonesia. The ranking is shown below:
- Philippines: 56%
- Thailand: 49%
- Indonesia: 44%
- Vietnam: 43%
- Singapore: 42%
- Myanmar: 39%
The survey also showed that 59% of Southeast Asians sleep for fewer than seven hours each night, which is less than the recommended eight hours.

The respondents have mentioned the following issues as the reasons they can't sleep:
- Difficulty falling asleep: 49%
- Waking up often at night: 39%
- Irregular sleep and wake cycle: 38%
Dr. Christine Celine Tan, a sleep expert, cautions that lack of sleep has a severe influence on one's physical, mental, and cognitive health and can lead to cognitive deficiencies, trouble focusing, and problems at work.
