UNICEF has prepared supplies for 10,000 people in the aftermath of Typhoon 'Betty.'
As the Philippines braced for Typhoon Betty (international name: Mawar), the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund claimed it had prepositioned supplies for 10,000 households.
Schools-in-a-box kits, family hygiene and dignity kits, tents, water purification tablets, and ready-to-use therapeutic meals are among the emergency items available.
According to the UN, they may be dispersed quickly through its partners.
“UNICEF expresses its concern for children and families who continue to pay the price for extreme weather brought about by climate change,” it said in a statement.
UNICEF issued research last week that found Filipino children to be among the most sensitive to overlapping climatic and environmental shocks, despite the fact that the Philippines remains one of the countries most hit by climate change.
