The northeast monsoon will prevail over Luzon, with isolated thunderstorms possible in VisMin over the next 24 hours.
We are still stuck in cold season.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the northeast monsoon will prevail over Luzon in the next 24 hours, while localized thunderstorms may affect parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
According to PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina, the northeast monsoon, or amihan, has re-intensified and is expected to strengthen further in the coming days.
As a result, some parts of the country may see cold weather again in the coming days, he said.
Because of the amihan, cloudy weather with light to heavy rains will prevail over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon over the next 24 hours.
The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies and light amihan rains.
Meanwhile, the skies over Visayas and Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Despite the fact that most of the country will see fair weather, Badrina warned the public to be on the lookout for possible flooding or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
