Road Closures Around Manila North Cemetery Announced for Undas 2024 Observance, Affecting Aurora Blvd and Nearby Areas
In honor of "Undas" (All Saints and All Souls' Days) on November 1 and 2, a number of roadways around the Manila North Cemetery (MNC) are blocked to traffic.
The following highways are closed starting at 12:01 a.m., according to a social media post made by the Manila Public Information Office on Tuesday night. Wednesday up until 7:00 p.m. on November 3.
- the stretch of Aurora Blvd. from Dimasalang Rd. to Rizal Ave.
- the stretch of Blumentritt Rd. from A. Bonifacio Rd. to P. Guevarra St.
- the stretch of Retiro St. from Dimasalang Rd. to Blumentritt Ext.
- the stretch of Maceda St. from Makiling St. to Dimasalang Rd.
- the stretch of Dimasalang Rd. from Makiling St. to Blumentritt Rd.
- the stretch of P. Guevarra St. from Cavite St. to Aurora Blvd.
The city government released a traffic rerouting scheme for motorists.
The section of Rizal Ave. or J. can be used by drivers heading to La Loma and Chinese Cemeteries. Abad Santos Avenue as the entry or departure location (and vice versa).
To get to Blumentritt Road, all cars traveling from Dimasalang Road must turn right onto Makiling Street and travel directly to Blumentritt Ext.
It further stated that individuals who are visiting the MNC can park in the following lots:
*Blumentritt Road to Aurora Boulevard via P. Guevarra Street.
*F. Huertas Street between Aurora Boulevard and Blumentritt Road.
*Aurora Boulevard from Blumentritt Road to Oroquieta Street.
*Simoun Street, between Blumentritt Street and Dimasalang Road.
