Philippine medal standings soar after Carlos Yulo's double gold.
The Philippines' medal standings improved by ten places after Carlos Yulo's double gold medal performance at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, linking them with Azerbaijan and Serbia, both of which had two gold medals.
Standings rose as a result of gymnast Carlos Yulo's historic performances in the men's vault and men's floor exercise. Yulo is the first Filipino to win two medals at an Olympics, and gold ones at that.
New Zealand, Hong Kong, Belgium, Croatia, Ukraine, and Sweden have also won two gold medals thus far. In terms of total medals won, these teams are ranked higher than the Philippines.
With 19 gold medals, the United States leads the field. China has 26 silver and 11 bronze medals. With their outstanding results in the men's pole vault and women's boxing, the Philippines is certain of two more bronze medals.
