Over P3.41 billion is released by DBM to support Filipino students in technical and vocational institutions.

Most of us want to finish  a degree or even a vocational course but as we all know it is hard to study if you don't have the money to pay for the tuition so most of us are waiting for scholarships.

A Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) for P3.410 billion to the Department of Labor and Employment's Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (DOLE-TESDA) for the implementation of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) Act was approved by Amenah F. Pangandaman, Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), on February 15, 2023.

All Filipino students enrolled in Technical Vocational Institutions registered under the TESDA shall have their tertiary education expenses paid for by the SARO and its corresponding Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA).

The money will pay for beneficiaries' tuition fees, other fees, accident insurance, trainee provision, health/protective equipment, internet allowance, starter tool kits, national assessment fees, and other school fees for the academic year. It is chargeable against DOLE-regular TESDA's budget under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

The UAQTE program will be implemented nationwide through Diploma Programs in FY 2023, with 54,783 target beneficiaries set by DOLE-TESDA.
