On his third day in office, the cramped streets of Blumentritt, Divisoria, Binondo, Quiapo, Recto, and Pedro Gil were free of road obstructions which generate amusement and doubt on the Manilenos. According to an interview by Manila Bulletin, people were relieved but also skeptical of the operation because most politicians are often like this on the start of their term.
To show that he meant business, the Mayor was in Divisoria on Wednesday morning. Using a megaphone, he reminded the vendors not to give money to any government official, even barangay leaders, in exchange for letting them ply their trade.
However, the Mayor ensures the continuity of the campaign against the illegal activities in Manila. To stand on his ground, Mayor Isko revealed that a P5 Million bribe was being offered to him to leave Divisoria the way it is but he declined.
He also said that you will determine whether he has accepted the bribe if Divisoria and Juan Luna went back to the way they are.
