Maria Ressa telling us Don't Shut up!
Manila being back to MECQ, frontliners are having a hard time commuting since the transportation is banned due to MECQ. Mostly they use bikes, scooters, and motorcycles but if you don’t have that you need to walk. Pasig is opening its ferry to help frontliners go to their destination for free. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority issued a new advisory regarding the Pasig River Ferry service will remain operational but only dedicated to transporting frontliners, workers in the health, security, and government services.
The free ferry rides are available at the following stations:
- Pinagbuhatan
- San Joaquin
- Guadalupe
- Valenzuela
- Lawton
- Escolta
The ferry boat trip routes are as follows:
- Pinagbuhatan to Guadalupe
- Guadalupe to Escolta and vice versa
- Guadalupe to San Joaquin and vice versa
Frontliners just need to present valid identification cards to avail of the free rides from Monday to Saturday, 6 a.m. up to 6 p.m.
The previously announced health safety protocols will be observed to further guide the passengers including the following:
- No mask, no entry
- Physical distancing shall be observed at all times
- A passenger who has colds, cough or body temperature with greater than 37.5 degrees Celsius will not be allowed to enter the PRFS premises
- Only persons aged 21-59 years old will be allowed to board ferry boats
- Upon entering the ferry station, passengers will be required to undergo temperature check
- Passengers will be requested to fill-out the manifest form and accomplish the commuter information sheet should contract tracing is deemed necessary
