DOH has advised the public against using frozen eggs as a fresh egg substitute since it may be harmful to their health.

Eggs are a bit expensive nowadays but it is one of the easiest foods to cook. You boil, fry, poach and make your dessert or pasta creamy and over the top. Some of us want to buy eggs even though it is expensive so they rather buy the frozen ones which are cheaper than the regular ones. As per Department of Health (DOH) substituting frozen eggs to fresh eggs may pose health risks.

Health Officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire warned against the use of frozen eggs in cooking, as sudden temperature changes may lead to breeding of organisms that could cause health problems.

"May mga specific na bacteria na nacocontaminate ang itlog, kaya po nagbibigay kami ng abiso na ang fine-freeze na itlog ay maaaring makasama sa inyong health, (There are specific bacteria that are contained in eggs, that is why we are giving advice that frozen eggs are not good for your health)," Vergeire said.
