Dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo Cited for Contempt by House Quad Committee for Evasive Responses

The Bamban Mayor Alice Guo was fired in contempt by the House Quad Committee for "lying" and "evasiveness" when they questioned her bail status about charges of graft.

“Bakit hindi kayo nagbe-bail, bailable pala?” Nueva Ecija 4th District Representative Emerson Pascual asked.

“Hinihintay po namin lumabas ang isang kaso,” Guo replied.

“You are not answering the query!” Paduano observed.

“May contempt pa rin daw pong iba,” Guo said.

“You’re lying! Because the real reason why you did not bail out because you want to be doon detained sa PNP Custodial Center,” Paduano asserted.

“Alice Guo, billions, tapos hindi makapagbail ng P180,000? You’re fooling this country. You’re fooling the Filipino people,” he added.

“I move to cite Alice Guo in contempt in violation of our section 11 paragraph C,” Paduano moved.

Guo was previously cited by the Senate for contempt and was detained by Quad Comm until the committee report on illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators was accepted. Paduano intends to ask the court in Valenzuela City for permission for bringing the detainee to House.

"We will write the RTC branch 282 in Valenzuela city that after the said hearing, the authority to take custody, the person of Ms. Guo be transferred from the Philippine National Police to the House of Representatives," he said.
