Coronavirus is not stopping Weddings in New York this year.
Some people would rather postpone their wedding and wait it out until the coronavirus situation is over so they could spend their special day with all their loved ones. Some people, however, just couldn’t wait any more, but who could blame them?
Being wedded to the love of your life takes years to prepare for. With few exceptions, weddings are usually planned and paid for ahead of time. Unfortunately, the coronavirus outbreak began to spread and weddings this year are mostly cancelled. Having to postpone your wedding is more heartbreaking than you think.
For both parties of the relationship, they’ve waited for the proposal for the longest time—making sure that the timing was right and perfect. After stressful days of planning and hearing the wedding bells louder each passing day while anxiously counting down by the calendar, cancelling your special day until further notice isn’t really something you’d want to happen, and certainly isn’t easy to do. No matter how heart breaking the situation is, putting the blame on this pandemic wouldn’t be of any help.

New York governor Andrew Cuomo understands the frustration of the couples who had to postpone their marriage. That is why Cuomo signed an executive order—though this practice is usually banned in existing laws—that would allow New Yorkers to obtain a marriage license remotely and permitting clerks to put through wedding ceremonies via a video conference. “I am issuing an Executive Order allowing New Yorkers to obtain a marriage license remotely and allowing clerks to perform ceremonies via video conference,” Cuomo tweeted
This may be an odd thing to do for some people, and this is expected to receive various kinds of response but at the end of the day, it’s about two humans who exchange their vows wholeheartedly on each other, right?
