When the coronavirus started, a lot has been affected by restaurants, schools especially beers. We all love beers but since the coronavirus started the sales of beer decreased that cause it to expired and thrown away. Aussie has come up with a brilliant idea to not waste expired beer and converted into renewable energy. This was discovered in Glenelg Wastewater Treatment Plant to the west of the state capital Adelaide.

The plant mixes organic industrial waste with sewage sludge to produce biogas, that turned into electricity to power the whole facility. It usually generates enough biogas to provide about 80% of its energy needs.

"By adding around 150,000 liters of expired beer per week, we generated a record 355,200 cubic meters of biogas in May and another 320,000 cubic meters in June, which is enough to power 1,200 houses," Lisa Hannant, senior manager of production and treatment at SA Water Hannant said.

Aussie knows how to handle their waste well even expired beers. I can see that other countries will do the same soon if the pandemic is still like this and a lot of brilliant minds will have ideas to help each one of us.
