With the help of BSP Coin Deposit Machine, your collected coins can now turn into vouchers and e-wallet cash

We love saving money at home but sometimes we just want to put those coins on our GCash but the fee might make us think twice.

But good news because to encourage Filipinos to convert unused coins in their piggy banks into virtual currency or shopping vouchers and to foster coin recirculation in the nation, BSP developed the Coin Deposit Machine in June in collaboration with its partner merchants.

If you belong to the people who  prefer not to carry around bulky coin purses, dislike using money in everyday transactions, or just lack the time to send their coins to the bank to have them changed, this machine is your life saver. All BSP-released coins, even the centavo, are accepted here.

Where can you find this machine well, there are four live coin deposit machines in Manila, specifically two each in the Festival Supermall in Muntinlupa, Robinsons Place Ermita, and the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City. Six further machines from BSP will shortly be installed at SM and Robinsons Malls this year.

In addition to GCash, BSP is also in discussions with e-money app Maya to provide Filipinos other alternatives. Maya may be a choice by August 2023. It takes all coin denominations from the original BSP coin series, one centavo to the new P10 coins, as well as one centavo to the new P20 coins from the next generation currency coin series.

You don’t need to wait a lot longer to see if your money is in your Gcash account because once you put your coins in, it will reflect in your Gcash Account.

Just so you know, foreign cash, demonetized coins, and coins with damage or mutilation will not be accepted.
