Tinder’s AI can help pick your most attractive pictures
Many of us are hesitant about using dating apps, possibly because we don't feel photogenic and struggle to select the perfect picture. If the photo is too stunning, it might give the impression that we're catfishing. We aim to find a balance, choosing a photo that makes us look good without seeming overly enhanced or unbelievable.
Let us all admit it: we need some help to find the perfect photo, and the best tool to help us is AI.
A new AI-powered tool called "Photo Selector" has been added to the dating app; it selects and organizes the best photos in your library specially for you.
It functions by requiring users to upload a selfie or their profile photo in order to gather biometric data.
Next, based on many characteristics, including lighting and composition, among others, Tinder's AI will search through your camera roll for images that could be suitable for use as your app's profile picture.
You can choose from a carefully chosen selection that the app will then show you; in the end, it's still up to you what you upload to Tinder.
Tinder just uses the images you choose for your profile; it won't gather or access any of the pictures in your gallery because the AI only functions on the smartphone.
According to a Tinder survey, 52% of single people find it difficult to choose their profile photos, and 68% of them think AI features would be helpful. 18–24 year old singles take 33 minutes to choose their pictures.
