Coursera has seen a 642% increase in enrollment in courses relevant to generative AI.
In collaboration with organizations like DeepLearning.AI, IIT Guwahati, and US colleges, Coursera launches seven new GenAI specializations and courses on subjects like software development, AI ethics, and business impact.
The entry-level professional credentials offered by Coursera now include eight new courses with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI). The credentials are intended for aspiring data analysts, cybersecurity analysts, social media managers, and full stack software engineers. They are offered by IBM, Microsoft, and Meta.
Additionally, Coursera has added new courses to GenAI Academy, a workforce-focused collection of AI-related courses that debuted in January 2024. These new courses are designed to foster creativity and increase output among functional teams. Now available as an integrated sidebar in the platform, the AI-powered Coursera Coach helps learners in real-time by offering advice and support.
An increase of 642% year over year, or 36%, in GenAI enrollment has been reported by Coursera in the ASEAN area, with 13,000 of those enrolled from the Philippines. A majority of these enrolments, comprising both introductory and ChatGPT engineering courses, are made up of Filipino millennials, who lead the way in GenAI reskilling.
