Canva has launched Magic Studio, a program that compensates artists for their work.
Canva, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, claims that its "Magic Studio" app is intended to democratize creative outputs by providing "the most comprehensive AI-design platform."
Following artists' and writers' concerns about AI developers utilizing their work without remuneration, the $200 million program was launched. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Canva Head of Product Robert Kawalsky stated that the application they have created is a "all-in-one AI platform for the 99 percent of people who are not design professionals." During the global debut of Magic Studio in Sydney, Australia, Canva Co-founder and CEO Melanie Merkins confirmed the assertion, saying that it is intended to "supercharge the way teams create and scale visual content."
Magic Studio's Magic Media employs generative AI to generate graphics and films based on basic suggestions. The app's text-to-image performance has improved, and features like Magic Design and Magic Switch enable users to create completely planned presentations and films. Canva's $200 program will compensate for content and AI royalties for the creator community over a three-year period.
