Shopee will stop supporting the GCredit and GGives payment methods
Shopping online and having a wide range of payment methods is indeed a lifesaver even though we have no money because GCash gives as a variety of options but shopee ends some of it now. Filipinos were able to buy goods and pay for services even when they lacked cash thanks to GCash, GCredit, and GGives.
But as of April 30, 2023, Shopee will stop accepting GGives and GCredit as payment options, according to a new advisory that we received from GCash via SMS.
The fintech company did make it clear that regular GCash payments are still accepted and that GGives and GCredit will still be accessible on other GCash partner stores. However, Shopee recently raised its handling fee for GCash payments to 2%.
Dropping GCash's financing options could be Shopee's way of highlighting their own. Customers of Shopee can use SPayLater in place of the aforementioned services.
