How to activate updates for Gmail package delivery tracking
Tracking our packages is essential so that we are not surprised when we need to pay for something or cannot receive it because we are not at home. Delivery couriers have their own website where you can track your packages, but it is a bit of a hassle to copy and paste it. Google has devised a method to make our lives easier.
Package delivery tracking is a Gmail feature that was launched last November 2022, a few weeks into the holiday season, and will allow users to easily check the status of their orders via email.
Quick information about the delivery status of emails containing tracking numbers for packages will be prominently displayed in the inbox list view and on the top of individual emails.
Sadly, the feature is only available to major shipping carriers in the United States. More logistics companies from more countries will hopefully join soon.
There are two methods you can enable Gmail package tracking.
Method 1: When you open your Gmail account, you should see a "Track your packages in Gmail" notice if the feature is available in your country. Simply click "Allow" to proceed.
Method 2: If the first method does not work, open your Gmail app and go to Settings > select your email address > General > Package tracking.
